Born into a family of artists in Western Australia , I have been  exhibiting works since the age of 12 in both mixed and solo exhibitions. From an early age until my late teens, I focused in textile based pieces working in the medium of Batik ( wax and dye resist processes ) . I created large and small scale paintings utilising traditional and contemporary methods , primarily working in later years with Napthol fibre reactive dyes.

After graduating from high school I was accepted into Curtin University Western Australia and studied a Bachelor of Craft for 3 years majoring in textiles with minors in printmaking and photography. I continued to work heavily with the batik process as my preferred medium endeared by its multi layered processes and textural aesthetics.

At the age of 21 I drastically changed career focus by being accepted into The Western Australian Academy Of Performing Arts  where I studied and gained a diploma in performance dance and maintained a successful 20 year career in the performing arts specialising in both dance and puppetry. I  performed and toured both nationally and internationally with many of Australia's most prominent puppetry companies including a long term engagement with Spare Parts Puppet  Theatre of Western Australia  &  Theatre Of Image . I have appeared in numerous stage productions including the official national touring productions of THE HOBBIT, THE LION THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE and BBC’s 2007 arena world premiere of WALKING WITH DINOSAURS.

During these years I maintained my interest in my visuals arts  practice , and continued to produce work when time allowed . I  have exhibited  in mixed exhibitions and  produced 3 solo exhibitions . My work has developed from  textiles  to mixed media paintings using photography as my main base then working into the pieces in layered process reminiscent to my batik works.  I utilise  mediums of paint, inks, chalks & graphites and  in some cases digital transformation.

I have been based in Melbourne since 2001 and am currently working on my next body of works for my forth solo exhibition .

VISION AESTHETIC

My works and style have been influenced by numerous ideas and have evolved over time into pieces which for me  are now more solidified in my approach and focus.

I have practiced meditation  since  an early teenager as well as having explored magical theory interests. I have always been interested in esoteric ideas , visuals which touch on spirit, transformation and beyond. From my early 20s during my university training my works incorporated symbolic imagery , generally to form abstract pieces relating more to architectural  places of vision than to human/nature formations.

For many years I have utilised photography as my starting base .This gives me a real sense of place and time - having been physically present at a specific location where I have found an essence of mediation in formation and a place where I feel I can visually expand upon in order to ultimately create a work which transcends its original location  & self  construct , in order to create a more surreal vision  yet retaining its natural core.

I deal with  themes of symmetry, energy, magic, exploring  the balances  between  the simple and the intricate , with references in style to tantric art ,  often having a centre body of focus .

These  are my maps, gateways to a greater universal theme - a meditation portal.
